A Little About Me
I have been a member of St. James Parish since 1966. I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Kansas Newman University in 1995 and have been teacher at St. James ever since. I love teaching! I have a great family. My husband is Cowboy John Hoefgen, who has worked at Parks Motors for over 30 years. My daughter Jenny and her husband Richard attend St. James and live here in Augusta. They have blessed us with a granddaughter, Jordan, a former St. James student who attends Butler County Community College, and a grandson, Jacob, also a former St. James student who is currently attending AMS. Our son, Nick, who lives in Wichita with his wife Amber, drove his daughter, Haylee, to school at St. James every day, and now brings our grandson, Miles, in to attend preschool.

Beginning in 1954, in Rome, Italy, Sofia Cavalletti and her co-worker, Gianna Gobbi, developed an approach which not only appealed to the profound religious intuition of younger and older children, but which evolved from the children themselves.
The Association of the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd was formed in 1984 in North America with its main aim being that "involving adults and children in a common religious experience in which the religious values of chidhood are predominate."
Focusing on God' unconditional love through the parable of the Good Shepherd, the course is based on the conviction that God and the child are in relationship. It is the foundation level training for the catechesis in general and for the 3 to 6 year old child in particular..
